- In 2009, SMA launched the Dream Seekers Initiative after being selected by the department of children’s services to head efforts around improving the lives of young people transitioning out of the foster care system. Ten years later, the Dream Seekers Initiative is still going strong.
- Dream Seekers provides services for young people, ages 14 to 25, who are/or have been in foster care.
- The following services are available to our Dream Seekers:
o Financial education and access to banking services.
o Education assistance
o Job Readiness Training
o Personal and Community engagement opportunities
o Youth for Youth (Y4Y) board membership (This program is specifically for young people who are in foster care or who have transitioned out of foster care).
o HIV/AIDS testing and counseling
- Comprehensive Sex Education
o Cognitive behavioral therapies (group and individual courses)
