Part of a collaborative demonstration project with the Shelby County Office of Early Childhood and Youth (OECY), SMA is providing support services to pregnant and parenting teens who are, or were,in foster care. These young parents receive prenatal care, parenting education, connections to Early Success partners, and access to a vouchered community “baby store” – SMA’s Hope Chest – where participants receive items such as diapers, formula, clothing and cribs, car seats, high chairs, play yards, and much more.

. The young parents also receives:

o   Linkage to prenatal care services

o   Parenting education

o   Connections to Early Success partners

o   Teen Dating Violence Prevention

o   Employment Training

o   Financial Education

o   Access to a vouchered community “baby store” SMA’s Hope Chest where participants receive items such as diapers, formula, clothing, cribs, car seats, high chairs, play yards and much more.
